Step 9: Send ITR-V to the CPC Bangalore
ITR-V, the 1-page verification document, has to be printed, signed and sent to the Income Tax Department in Bangalore after filing the income tax return online to complete the e-filing procedure.
But if your income is less than Rs 5 lakh and you dont have any tax refund, you can get one ITR form verified online. The electronic verification code (EVC) is a 10-digit alphanumeric number that is unique to a PAN. This can be generated through your net banking account, your bank ATM, Aadhar card and the Department website. The EVC is valid for 3 days only. It is valid for 10 minutes if generated via Aadhar card. It can be used for any assessment year and for any type of return.
Follow the steps here to verify your return using electronic verification code:
>Log on to the Department e-filing website to get the EVC.
>To get the EVC to your email address/phone number, go to e-File tab and select “Generate EVC”.
>You will receive the EVC to both your inbox and registered phone number.
> Click on e-verify return under the E-file tab.
> Select the first option: “I already have an EVC and I would like to Submit EVC”. Provide the EVC in the text box. Click Submit.
> Download the Acknowledgement document. You have successfully e-filed and e-verified your income tax return.
